Understanding Music Licensing and Social Media Flags
Music is one of the most powerful ways to bring emotion and professionalism into a listing video. That’s why we partner with a trusted music provider, Artlist, to ensure the tracks we use are fully licensed for commercial use. This means that every video we create for you includes high-quality music that is legally cleared for business purposes, unlike so-called “copyright free” songs, which are often poor quality and can still carry hidden restrictions.
However, even with the proper licenses, platforms like Instagram, Facebook, or TikTok sometimes mistakenly flag or block videos that use licensed music. This happens because the platforms run automated copyright detection systems that can’t always recognize when a track is used legally. These claims come from the platforms, not from our music provider.
Since this process is outside of our control, we want to provide you with a few simple solutions if you ever run into this issue:
Options if Your Video Gets Flagged
-
Keep the Video Under 1 Minute
In most cases, copyright flags on social media happen when the video is longer than 60 seconds. Posting a shorter version often avoids the issue. We can re-edit the video at no cost for you!
Contact us now to let us know your video needs to be re-edited, it will be done and delivered the same day! -
Upload the Video Without Music
Another option is for us to send you a version of your video without background music. You can then add music directly through the platform’s own music library. This way, Instagram, Facebook, or TikTok will automatically recognize the track as approved, and your video won’t get flagged.
Starting August 25th 2025, we’ll send both a version with licensed music and a version without music, so you can choose what works best for your posting needs.
How to Add Music on Social Media (Quick Guide)
On Instagram
- Upload your video as a Reel.

- Before posting, tap the music note icon.

- Browse or search for a song in Instagram’s music library.

- When you found a track you like, follow the arrow, then Swipe Up to open the editor!
Then click on the audio track to manage the Volume and Section.
Note: If you have Agent Scenes, you might want to turn the Volume down slightly (40-50%).

- If you have Agent Scenes or Sound Effects in your video, don't forget to keep the original video Volume - or else if will be removed!
Click on the video and check for the Volume. Keep it at 100%!

You're now ready to post!
This is process that will not take more than 2 or 3 minutes, and often needed when posting content on Social Media. We always do our best to deliver videos that are ready to post with fully licensed music. But since each social media platform uses its own detection system, occasional flags may still happen. By using the options above, you’ll always have a smooth way to share your content without interruptions.
Uploading your video on similar platforms is nearly the same workflow:
On Facebook:
-
Start creating your post and upload your video.
-
Tap “Add Music” while editing your video.
-
Select a song from Facebook’s library and adjust as needed.
On TikTok:
-
Upload your video.
-
Tap “Sounds” at the bottom of the screen.
-
Pick a track from TikTok’s vast library.
-
Sync it with your video, then publish.
